My work is less about me, and more about you.  But, if you really want to know...

When I started working with glass it was as if I already knew what to do, and just needed someone to remind me.  It really felt like I had done it before.  Stained glass work is detailed, precise, and can be very tedious. Above all, it is my passion.  My goal is to capture the essence of the client through custom design and carefully selected materials.  I believe that stained glass is a medium that offers limitless capacity for expression. While the tradition may be long-lived, the potential exists for new and exciting applications in today’s world.  Let’s make something unique!

Everything begins with an idea...

I work with the client to determine their style and intention for the panel.  Information is gathered regarding environment and measurements.  Sketches are provided for approval, along with a review of colors, materials, and technique to be used.  Once the design concept is finalized, a full-size drawing (cartoon) is produced.  A glazing drawing and patterns are made from the full-sized cartoon.  Glass is hand-cut, and the panel is assembled.  I work primarily with lead came, but also incorporate copper foil when appropriate.  Panels are weatherproofed, or puttied for support, and hand-brushed to finish with a fine luster.

Everyone smiles!

I studied design at the University of Alberta in Canada, and in New York at Fashion Institute of Technology and Parson’s School of Design.  Taking a more serious direction, I put my creative self aside and wound up with a BA in Philosophy.  Following a responsible career path, I worked in the area of Public Relations, and later, Clinical Trials.  After some years of toiling in places that left me feeling COMPLETELY uninspired, I reconnected with my design muse and discovered stained glass in 2007.  I have been working full time in stained glass since January of 2008, and loving every second of it!
